A Cased Pair Of French 32-Bore Percussion Pistols By Boutet, Directeur artiste, Manuf.re A Versailles, Early 19th Century Converted from flintlock, with blued swamped octagonal sighted scratch-rifled barrels each with two gilt lines at the muzzle, case-hardened breeches and border engraved tangs, the latter each with back-sight, border engraved detented flat bevelled locks each engraved 'Manuf.re A Versailles', figured full stocks with chequered rounded butts and flat ovoidal pommels, border engraved case-hardened mounts comprising ovoidal pommel-plates, trigger-guards each decorated with a differing trophy on the bow and with urn and pedestal finial, engraved and turned ramrod-pipes, adjustable set triggers, original horn-tipped ramrods with steel caps, and retaining most of their original finish from the time of conversion: in later mahogany case refitted and relined in green baize with accessories including brass-mounted powder-flask embossed with a brace of partridges on each side, the exterior of the lid with shaped vacant brass escutcheon 20.2 cm. barrels Footnotes: Nicolas-Noël Boutet (1761-1833) is considered to be one of the greatest recorded gunmakers. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
