Rose Quartz Carving Depicting a Flamboyance of Flamingos on a Blue Opal Base by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Each of the five flamingoes carved of translucent rose quartz, with ruby cabochon eyes, rimmed in 18K yellow gold, on gold vermeil legs. Raised on a contour polished base formed of blue dendritic opal from the Andes Mountains of Peru. Measuring 15 x 10 x 10 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing. His works are displayed in museums in the United States and Europe and are enjoyed by private collectors around the world. Lot to be sold without reserve.
