Large Saw Fish with Fish and Shrimp Libanopristis hiram Cenomanian, Upper Cretaceous, 100-million-years-old Hgula, Byblos, Lebanon The sawfish such as the Libanopristis hiram have a snout stretching into a rostrum laterally holding small teeth. The pectoral fins, well developed, join the rostrum and the head is not individualized from the body. This family, which is not directly related to the present-day sawfish, is localized in the Cretaceous. There are no descendants of Lebanopristis since the Upper Cretaceous. The present specimen is a large plate, with wooden backing and French cleats to permit hanging. Measuring 39 x 18 1/2 x 1 1/2 in Lot to be sold without reserve.
