In this brief essay, Anderson outlines the relatively short history of American literature, its development, and its direction in the 20th century. SOLD TO BENEFIT THE BLACK MOUNTAIN INSTITUTE. UNLV's Black Mountain Institute is an international literary arts center that champions writers and storytellers through programs, fellowships, student scholarships, and community engagement.
