AN E.H. HARRIMAN SIGNED STOCK CERTFICATE FOR THE CEDAR FALLS AND MINNESOTA RR. HARRIMAN, EDWARD HENRY. 1848-1909. Document Signed ('E.H. Harriman') on verso, certificate for 100 shares of stock in the Cedar Falls and Minnesota Railroad Co. issued to Harriman, partially printed and accomplished in manuscript, 1 p, 4to (170 x 260 mm), New York, December 19, 1895, also signed by W.J. Knight as President, matted and framed to 440 x 595 mm. Provenance: Private Collection, Beverly Hills, California. Edward Harriman was a successful railroad baron and philanthropist also known for sponsoring an 1899 scientific expedition to Alaska that included among its staff photographers a young Edward Curtis. The Cedar Falls and Minnesota Railroad was built in 1858 and ran from Dubuque to the Minnesota border. Lot to be sold without reserve.
