Folio (344 x 170 mm). 172 engraved plates, including 2 portraits of George Washington, numerous engravings throughout text. Covers of volume 1 detached, chipping to joints of all volumes, rubbing, moderate foxing throughout. The production of the illustrations was overseen by Henry Fuseli and include engravings by Thomas Holloway and three signed engravings by William Blake (one a full-page portrait), as well as the two portraits of Washington.
