A late 19th century French gilt brass sectional fender together with a set of three similar period brass fire irons The fender in the Louis XVI style, possibly in the manner Henry Dasson The chenet ends to the fender formed as pedestal urns with applied rams mask handles and symmetric trailing fruiting laurel garlands above a bow-fronted sections with fringed lambrequin drapery raised on toupie feet, one side with pierced scrolling decoration, the other with tapering pilaster support, the adjustable central section with corresponding pierced foliate decoration, the fire irons with lobed and scrolling pommel handles, comprising a poker, pair of tongs and shovel with pierced pan, the chenet, 47cm high approximately, 43cm wide, 28cm deep, the central section 97cm long, 11.5cm high (6) This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue.
