A large mid 19th century English gilt brass mounted ebonised chiming table clock Circa 1860-1880, the dial signed for William Page, Great Portland St, London, numbered 556 The rectangular arched case with swept pagoda finial and pineapple finials, the front with inset foliate pediment ornament, the corners with reeded Corinthian columns, the sides with foliate carrying handles and pierced rectangular sound frets, the glazed front door with putto escutcheons, the oval silvered dial with gilt and engraved floral and scrolling decoration and 10' Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands and with Chime-Silent and Slow-Fast regulations, the substantial triple fusee movement with recoil escapement with pendulum rise and fall, chiming on a nest of ten bells and striking on a large steel gong, the fully engraved backplate and pendulum with decorative scrolls and a large classical urn in the centre, 85cm high This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue.
