A late 19th century French gorge cased carriage clock Stamped to the inside of the frontplate for Drocourt, No.13300/26924 The Gorge case with rippled handle over a large rectangular bevelled glass inspection panel, similar side panels and a moulded base, the rectangular white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued steel hands, the gilt platform with compensated bimetallic balance to a jewelled English-style lever escapement, striking on a blued steel coiled gong, 16.5cms high Footnotes: This clock was fully overhauled in 2003 by an FBHI horologist, at which time the oval stamp 'DROCOURT Fnt PARIS' was found on the frontplate.
