Early Club Butt Fowler, c. 1720. 53 1/8 in., .87 caliber octagon to round matchlock musket barrel, double ring transition at 17 in. from the breech, flaring muzzle; curved English lock with double line border engraving marked 'W/BRAZIER' below the pan; heavy maple stock with molded edges on the underside of the butt; sheet iron trigger guard with pointed finial and two sheet brass rammer pipes; wood rammer. Overall lg. 63 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel and lock toned to deep brown with underlying pitting; stock has old, untouched surface; trigger guard toned to deep brown; rammer pipes toned to deep yellow/brown.
