Bartolomeo Pinelli (Italian, 1781-1835) Bull running; men playing boules; young men listening to a Neapolitan singer; a group in conversation on a street a set of four, pencil and watercolour on paper 32.4 x 24.1cm (12 3/4 x 9 1/2in). (4) Footnotes: We are grateful to Dr Roberta Olson for suggesting that the present group may well have been part of an early dismembered album of Pinelli's Costumi in 1810. In 1807, the artist first started work on his Costumi, which he would continue to invent and produce, with variations of subject and format, throughout his career, including his Nuova Raccolta di cinquanta motivi pittoreschi e costumi di Roma in 1810, the year that the present works were presumably produced. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
