Lady Elizabeth Susan Percy (British, 1782-1847) A large group of approximately 55 watercolours of the environs of Villafranca, Nice, Savona, La Turbia, Seravezza, Sestri, Lerici, Porto Venere, Bagni di Lucca, Marlia, Monti Lugliano, Bargiglio and Saltocchio, all but two inscribed and dated between October 1836 and October 1838 watercolour 20 x 30cm (7 7/8 x 11 13/16in). and smaller, all unframed (quantity) Footnotes: Lady Susan Elizabeth Percy was the daughter of Algernon Percy, 1st Earl of Beverley FSA. She spent much of her time from 1830s onwards in Italy where she recorded every step of her travels and died in Rome. Several of her landscapes were acquired by Tate in 1996 as part of the Oppé collection.
