Federal Inlaid Mahogany Pembroke Table, New York, c. 1800. Two leaves with ovolo corners inlaid on top with continuous triple-string border and single stringing along edges, joined with wrought iron hinges to the rectangular top, which is attached to inner apron rail with pocket screws, the open leaves supported by cut-out brackets box-hinged to outer apron rail, the case containing one drawer with original brass handle, the front and opposite apron panel inlaid with stringing as above, and flanked by bookend panels inlaid at the top of tapered legs that are string-inlaid to cuff and raised on casters, closed, 48cm wide, 78cm deep, 73cm high (19 1/4in wide, 31 3/4in deep, 29 1/4in high).
