English School (20th Century) 'THE DEATH BED (BRIDESHEAD REVISITED)' Oil on canvas 211 x 268cm (83 1/16 x 105 1/2in) approximately Unframed and rolled Footnotes: Depicting an imagined scene of the death of Lord Marchmain with actual and allegorical depictions of the majority of the characters from the acclaimed 1981 Granada TV adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's 1945 novel 'Brideshead Revisited' produced by Derek Granger, partner of Kenneth Partridge. Probably used as promotional artwork for the series when it was promoted in the USA in 1982, the members of the cast depicted included Laurence Olivier as Lord Marchmain, Jeremy Irons as Charles Ryder, Anthony Andrews as Sebastian Flyte, Diana Quick as Julia Flyte, Phoebe Nicholls as Cordelia Flyte, Claire Bloom as Lady Marchmain, Sir John Gielgud as Edward Ryder and Nickolas Grace as Anthony Blanche.
