Imelda Staunton (as the Queen): A replica of the 'Kensington Bow Brooch' Season 6, Episode 9, 'Ipatiev House' Silver coloured metal studded with diamantés of different sizes and with central simulated pearl drop detail, pin backing 7cm wide, 6cm high Footnotes: Worn in the Buckingham Palace Throne Room scene. Inspired by the Kensington Bow Brooch: a classic diamond bow with a pear-shaped pearl pendant, made in 1893 by Collingwood. The brooch was gifted to Princess Mary of Teck (1867-1953) by the people of Kensington, in celebration of her wedding. It was an appropriate present as Princess Mary was born at Kensington Palace, and spent a good deal of her childhood there. Princess Mary can be seen wearing the brooch in various portraits, both as Princess and after when she became Queen, following the coronation of her husband, George V. When Queen Mary died, she left the majority of her jewellery to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II, including the Kensington Bow Brooch, which she is documented wearing throughout her life.
