An ochre-painted occasional table Probably attributable to Syrie Maugham (British, 1879-1955), circa 1935 The rectangular top above an undertier, on downswept legs, together with a similar white and red-painted night stand, the shaped top above a two-door cupboard, (damages), the larger: 44cm wide x 60.5cm deep x 71.5cm high, (17in wide x 23 1/2in deep x 28in high) (2) Footnotes: Condition Report The occasional table: 44.5cm wide x 32.5cm deep x 60.5cm high Chips, scuffs and scratches throughout. Significant chips and losses to paint, most noticeably to the edges of the legs and top. The night stand: In tired condition. Chips, scuffs and scratches throughout. The front-right leg has previously been broken in two and later repaired with a metal bracket. The three other legs with marks indicating there was previously an undertier. There is a significant split to the top of the back-left leg where it joins the body. There is a large loss to the front-right top, above the cupboard. Heavy wear to paintwork, most noticeably to the tops. Further marks / discolouration and residue to the tops.
