Glenfarclas 58 Year Old 1953 Single Family Cask. Distilled 25/11/1953, bottled 20/09/2012. Distilled & bottled by J&G Grant, Glenfarclas. Spanish oak Hogshead #1682. Bottle 002/136. Good labelling, rear label with very small ripple. Level: into neck. 700ml. Single malt, 43.9 abv Hine 60 Year Old 1953 Single Family Cask. Bottled for Hine's 250th Anniversary. Distilled 01/12/1953, bottled 04/03/2013 by Thomas Hine & C. Grande Champagne. Cask #284. Bottle 002/148. Both presented in original wooden obelisk presentation cases by N.E.J. Stevenson, Cabinet Makers by Royal Appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and outer packaging. Level: very top shoulder. 70cl. Single malt, 41.9 abv 2 bottles Footnotes: One of 125 pairs of obelisks. This striking two-bottles set, was bottled to honour the historic pact between Scotland and France, the 'Auld Alliance', which began in 1295, here represented by the iconic spirits from each nations. Both distilled in 1953, the Glenfarclas Scotch single malt, and Hine Grande Champagne Cognac are considered some of the finest spirits these producers have ever bottled.
