The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask #1683-13 1950 Distilled 9th November 1950, bottled 19th October 2018. Distilled and bottled by The Macallan Distillers Ltd. American oak 1st fill sherry butt 1683/13. Limited edition, 336 bottles. In original carton. Good labelling. Level: very top shoulder. 750ml. Single malt, 53.4 abv 1 bottle Footnotes: The Macallan Exception Cask Series was launched in 2017, and comprises entirely of Single Cask releases of the finest quality. Unusually the range is only added to when a spirit is deemed to be of sufficient quality, rather than on a specific timeline ensuring that only the very expressions make the cut. The Macallan Exceptional Cask #1683-13 1950 was bottled after 67 years in a single American Oak first fill sherry butt and released in July 2019. It is described as having an elegant, rich character with aromas of polished oak, delicate peaches and vanilla. The palate is intensely oaky, with rich wood spices, orange zest, root ginger and hints of something peaty.
