A TABLETOP CELESTIAL GLOBE / Early 18th century, Germany (Augsburg)
A tabletop celestial globe by the prominent German cartographer, engraver and publisher Matthäus Seutter (1678-1757) of Augsburg, who was considered one of the most important and prolific cartographers of his time. For his service, Charles VI granted him the title of "Imperial Geographer" in 1732. Lined paper glued to a plaster base. Wooden mounts - oak, brass axis. Marked on the cartouche. (Height 35 cm)

Tisch-Himmelsglobus des bedeutenden deutschen Kartografen Matthäus Seutter (1678-1757) aus Augsburg, der als einer der wichtigsten und produktivsten Kartografen und Herausgeber seiner Zeit galt. Im Jahr 1732 wurde ihm von Karl VI. der Titel ‘Kaiserlicher Geograf‘ verliehen. Kaschiertes Papier auf Gips-Leim-Korpus. Holzmontage – Eiche, Messingachse. Kennzeichnung auf der Aufschriftskartusche. You can look forward to the early work "BETWEEN SUNFLOWERS" by Otakar Kubín, interesting collectors acquisitions from Václav Brožík, Jan Preisler or Antonín Slavíček, Vlaho Bukovac, Josef Šíma, Václav Radimský, Franz Metzner or Jan Bauch. We will also auction works by present artists such as Karel Malich and Jan Saudek.
From the field of furniture we will represent Italian baroque, Czech cubism in the form of several items by Gočár, and also art deco with a glass case made by architect Mašek.
