WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Absolutely extraordinary jewel of this year´s auction is Otakar Kubín´s Self-Portrait originating from author´s early Paris times 1913-14, whose starting price will be 1 800 000 CZK.
For example, you can also look forward to Václav Brožík´s painting "Master Jan Hus in the Council of Constance" (before 1883) that was originally a part of the collection of wealthy Parisian collector Charles Sedelmeyer, the artists father-in-law, and has been a part of private collection in Vienna recently.
Another unique piece is opulent Ottoman sabre from the Battle of Vienna, 1683. A weapon in gilded silver design is decorated with green turquoises. It was probably stolen from a high Turkish commander by Polish soldiers, and as a sign of victory they replaced the Turk blade for a Polish one. Or, there is also a rifle from 19th century in a cassette with complete accessories for maintanenance of the weapon and casting of balls. It was made by a member of important family "Le Page" that gave birth to many personal gunsmiths of French monarchs.
Among the antiquities, there will also be a completely unique aquamanille - a bronze water vessel in the shape of lion probably originated in 13th century.
Interesting pieces representing modern art are a nude of young Tahitian by Maxim Kopf or Antonín Procházka´s Self Portrait.
