Athens, Greece, ca. 510 to 490 BCE. Superb pottery wine cup created with lead glaze in the black figure technique. On each side is a panel of three birds. Center bird strutting his stuff, probably to impress the hens to each side. Size: 7-1/2" in diameter handle to handle x 3-3/8"H.
Provenance: Ex-private Mazard collection, Paris, acquired 1970's.
