Set of three vintage illustrated map posters. 1. Historic York - Design by Estra Clark (1904-1993) features annotated drawings of York's famous historic buildings and monuments inside the walled city including the Minster, Yorkshire Museum, the Shambles as well as the many churches, towers, pubs, halls and hospitals. Historic people and characters are also included as well as a brief history of the city. Printed and published by Ben Johnson and Co LTD, York. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, tears, staining. Country of issue: UK, designer: Estra Clark, size (cm): 38x46, year of printing: 1947; 2. Vintage reproduction of a 1959 British Railways Pictorial Map of Yorkshire - featuring a colourful and detailed illustrated map of the historic county of Yorkshire in northern England with the coat of arms of the various towns and cities including York, Saltburn, Whitby, Scarborough, Harrogate, Doncaster, Sheffield, Ripon, Selby and Hull, various ancient and historical landmarks and points of interest, sports and other activities including people playing on the beach and swimming in the sea on the Yorkshire Coast, farming, hikers, caricatures and legends, castles and ruins, hills, national parks including the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and The Wolds, rivers and railway lines and the neighbouring counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Westmorland and Durham with a white rose in the centre of the compass point above within the decorative frame border, the title text and information on banner scrolls below on Yorkshire - England's largest county Nearly 4,000,000 acres More than 4,600,000 population Two national park areas Fine seaside and inland resorts Hills moors and lovely river valleys. Printed by Rusholmes Printers Ltd. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, tears, minor staining. Country of issue: UK, designer: EH Spencer, size (cm): 45x57, year of printing: 1970s; 3. Freedom Lands of Aberdeen marking the location of March Stones with descriptions on the exact location of each one. The March Stones of Aberdeen are boundary marker stones encircling the land owned by the Scottish royal burgh, dating from before 1525. The inner march stones mark the boundary of the crofts that ringed the medieval Royal Burgh of Aberdeen. The outer march stones define a much larger area known as the Freedom Lands. Issued by The City and Royal Burgh of Aberdeen Town Planning Department. Good condition, creasing, tears, minor staining.
