Set of 2 original vintage exhibition posters for 40 Years of Leningrad Art From Unofficial Art to Perestroika. 1. ??????? / Ariadna issued by the Soviet Fund for Cultural Cooperatives - From Unofficial Art to Perestroika post war Leningrad avant-garde 1948-1988 - held from 8-31 January 1989 at the Exhibition Complex on Vasilyevsky Island Leningrad (St Petersburg) depicting an outline of a man hammering a nail into his own head with his skull exposed set on a blue background. The exhibition featured history of the artistic life of Leningrad from 1949-1989 and included lectures, documentaries, artist meetings, poetry and speeches by art critics. Soviet nonconformist art was Soviet art produced in the former USSR outside the control of the state during the Stalinist era and, in particular, outside of the rules of Socialist Realism; also known as Soviet counterculture, underground art or unofficial art. Horizontal. Fair condition, creasing, tears, staining, paper loss in top right corner. Country of issue: Russia, designer: Alexey Kozin and Oleg Maslov, size (cm): 58x40, year of printing: 1988; 2. 40 Years of Leningrad Art From Unofficial Art to Perestroika - the history of artistic life in Leningrad 1949-1988 held at the Exhibition Complex on Vasilyevsky Island (St Petersburg) featuring the colourful text and silhouettes of military people in blue and red, one playing a trumpet whilst marching and the other standing guard with one arm raised, on a boxed background in shades of yellow with blue lines and red stars at the bottom. The period of Perestroika / Restructuring political reform from 1985 resulted in the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Poor condition, large paper losses, tears, creasing, staining, folds. Country of issue: Russia, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 58x41, year of printing: 1989.
