Original antique magazine La Plume, featuring Art Nouveau cover art by Alphonse Mucha, depicting a young lady in a long dress surrounded by stylised leaves and plants with a horse's head above, the magazine features articles on Almost Natural History Of Stratifies Psycho Physiology of the "Elector"; Through The Press; as well as advertising for various events and locations. Leon Deschamps set up La Plume in 1889; it was a French literary and artistic review magazine issued bi-monthly, supporting young artists and writers. The magazine often used illustrations by famous artists – Wilette, Forain, Grasset, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin, Signac, etc, the last issue of the magazine was in 1914. Alfons Maria Mucha (24 July 1860 – 14 July 1939), known internationally as Alphonse Mucha, was a Czech painter, illustrator, and graphic artist, living in Paris during the Art Nouveau period, best known for his distinctly stylized and decorative theatrical posters, particularly those of Sarah Bernhardt. He produced illustrations, advertisements, decorative panels, and designs, which became among the best-known images of the period. Fair condition, tear along spine, sticker on front cover, staining, creasing, minor tears, pencil marks on cover and first page, unstapled with loose pages.
