Extremely rare original vintage music poster flyer advertising Louis Armstrong Unique Jazz Gala in Lyon. N. J. Canetti presents for the first time in Lyon. Performance took place on 11 December, 1934 at 20:45 at the Salle Rameau. Great image of young Louis Armstrong playing a trumpet alongside bold black lettering. Louis Daniel Armstrong ( 1901-1971) was an American trumpeter, composer, vocalist, and actor who was among the most influential figures in jazz. Jacques Canetti invited Louis Armstrong to France and put together a new orchestra, with Herman Chitison on the piano, and some of the best elements from the ex- Freddy Johnson ensemble. They performed mostly in Paris but also gave concerts at Palais des Fetes in Strasbourg, the Salle Rameau in Lyon, the Cinema Odeon in Marseille. Very good condition, fold, repaired tear.
