The canvas has not been relined, there are some occasional spots and lines of retouching, for example below the infant's left hand, and along the top edge. The surface would benefit from a surface clean. The inscription on the reverse may possibly be late eighteenth century/ early 19th century.

The Buyer must arrange collection of lots within 10 working days of the auction. Purchased lots are at the Buyer's risk from the earlier of (i) collection or (ii) 10 working days after the auction.
